Site work for a development in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a development.

Major components of the work include: Phase IX Module 1 Liner Construction consisting of a composite liner system, approximately 4.8 acres, with an HDPE geomembrane and a 4-foot compacted clay layer; perimeter berm and ditch grading; leachate collection drainage layer with side slope riser, headwell, and Schedule 80 PVC leachate collection piping; and construction of leachate transfer and loadout system. C-3B Final Closure Construction includes an approximate 4.1-acre composite liner system comprised of two feet of compacted clay and an LLDPE geomembrane overlain with a synthetic geo-composite drainage layer; placement of a 2.5-foot general soils rooting zone layer overlain with a 6-inch layer of vegetated soils including tree plantings; installation of downslope drainage piping and a flow diversion structure; installation of three landfill gas extraction wells in 36-inch diameter boreholes, interconnecting gas header piping, and valves. Roadway and ditch construction including site grading and stormwater control structures. Pre-qualification requirements: Pre-qualification is required. A mandatory pre-Bid conference will be held. Bidders are required to attend and participate in the conference. Phase IX Module 1 Liner Construction of a composite liner system, including an approximate 4.8-acre composite liner consisting of an HDPE geomembrane and a 4-foot compacted clay layer. Current subbase grades are near proposed subbase grades but will need additional excavation and shaping for construction of sump, sideslope riser trench, and leachate collection trench. Completed subbase will need survey verification prior to placement of clay liner. Installation of HDPE leachate collection piping, gravel leachate collection drainage layer, side slope riser, and headwells. Aggregate to be used for leachate drainage layer and trench will be stockpiled on the pad south of the closed ash monofill site as noted on Plan Sheet G4. Stockpiling of aggregate materials near Phase IX Module 1 will need to be coordinated with Owner and Engineer to ensure no disruption to landfill traffic. Installation of leachate transfer system: Construction of sideslope pump house structure Construction of dual contained transfer piping and manholes for connection to existing transfer infrastructure. Modification to the existing LD-3 manhole will require construction of new piping within LD-3 and coring of existing structure for pipe connection. New pipe and core hole must be fitted with a water tight gasket to ensure no liquid can enter or exit the manhole through the annular space created by the connection. Construction of lift station and loadout pad. Lift station includes a 4,500 gallon fiberglass wet well insert. Integrator: Installation of SCADA and control panel system for pump control at sideslope riser pump house and lift station is sole source. Mark Antczak 612.419.1565 mantczak@sehinc.com C-3B Closure Construction Construction of an approximate 4.1-acre composite liner system comprised of two feet of compacted clay and an LLDPE geomembrane overlain with a synthetic geo-composite drainage layer. Ash wastes from the MSW Ash Overlay at the top of the landfill will be used to provide final waste grading of areas below final waste elevations. Once ash waste is placed for grading, no other wastes may be placed above ash. Placement of a 2.5-foot general soils rooting zone layer overlain with a 6-inch layer of vegetated topsoil and trees. Installation of three landfill gas extraction wells in 36-inch diameter boreholes, interconnecting gas header piping, and valves. a. Moisture sampling during drilling of well boreholes will be conducted by the Owner as part of the site's RD&D plan. Coordinate with Owner and Engineer for timing of borehole drilling. Provide 72 hours notice. Installation of downslope drainage piping and an energy dissipation stilling well structure. Stormwater Ditch grading and installation of stormwater culverts. Additional stormwater grading may be required along the toe of the western portion of C 3B. Provide drainage to ensure flow from stilling well structure to catch basin at southwest corner of Phase IX Module 1. Contact Trevor Romanko at the office of the Engineer for informal discussions about the project at 651.256.0433.
