The work to be performed includes furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for construction of a new playground located in Osterville, MA. This includes temporary sedimentation control, removal of existing trees, fencing, signage, concrete piers, septic tanks, manholes, storm water structures, bituminous and concrete pavement, vegetation, site utility relocation, protection of existing trees and features to remain, installation of playground equipment provided by the owner, installation of new sidewalk, fencing, playground surfacing, sidewalks, trash compactor, bituminous pavement and markings, water bottle filler, and loam and seeding. The scope covers all operations necessary to deliver the playground and ancillary on and off-site amenities in a fully installed and operable condition, including all utility and site work and obtaining all necessary licenses, permits, and certificates. Connections to existing utility lines are the responsibility of the contractor. Playground equipment will be ordered and paid for by the owner, but received, stored, and installed by the contractor, who is required to hire a certified playground installer. Instructions to bidders include: bids must be submitted through the online procurement portal; it is the bidder's responsibility to be familiar with the portal; a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting is specified; a 5% Bid Bond is required; Labor and Materials Payment Bond and Performance Bond each in the amount of 100% of contract amount are required; OSHA certification is required; compliance with wage laws and MBE/WBE participation is required; and compliance with applicable Massachusetts General Laws is required.
