The work is generally described as removal of existing gas fired wall heaters, patching of interior finishes at these locations, minor carpentry modifying an existing interior closet for the installation of new gas fired air handlers, new closet doors and frames including hardware, and installation of all necessary components for a new central HVAC system including ductwork, registers, grilles, exterior condensing unit on concrete pad, condensate lines and other necessary accessories and required work for proper installation as described in the specifications and construction documents. Sealed bids must be submitted on a stipulated sum basis using the provided Bid Form. Prime contractors must register with the architect and be properly licensed. A bid security of five percent of the highest possible bid amount is required. The successful bidder must furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds. Printed copies of documents are not provided by the architect; electronic documents may be obtained as instructed. Partial sets of bidding documents will not be issued. Bidders and sub-bidders may examine the site during working hours with prior notification. All prime contractors and their sub-bidders must comply with the provisions of equal employment opportunity and Davis-Bacon Act wage requirements. The owner requires substantial completion within 60 calendar days after notice to proceed.
