Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Rodeo, California. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and road / highway.

The work generally consists of installing ADA compliant curb ramps at multiple locations and applying two types of surface treatments on various roads in the Rodeo area: a type II fiberized slurry seal, or cold plane and overlay with hot mix asphalt (HMA). Work involves vegetation removal, edge grinding, removal of existing thermoplastic stripes and pavement markings, removal of existing curb and sidewalk, setting survey monuments, and placing of thermoplastic striping and pavement markings. Bids must cover the entire project, and neither partial nor contingent bids will be considered. The Contractor must possess a valid Class A or Class C-12 License at the time the Contract is awarded. Prior to submitting a bid, the Contractor and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5, subject to limited legal exceptions under Labor Code section 1771.1. The successful bidder must furnish a payment bond and a performance bond. You are required to subcontract a minimum of 25% of your bid in accordance with the Mandatory Subcontracting Minimum requirements. The successful bidder (prime contractor), as a condition of contract award, must negotiate and sign a project labor agreement (PLA) with the Contra Costa Building and Construction Trades Council, and require all subcontractors to sign the PLA. There are specific Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity requirements for hiring new employees for this contract.
