Renovation of a transportation facility in Portland, Maine. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.
The work involves installing new exterior metal siding with insulation over an existing masonry block building, along with exterior painting of doors, door frames, and an existing metal overhang at the Maintenance Building. Additional miscellaneous work is required, as described in the summary of work and contract drawings, and includes some interior building work. The project is to be completed in two phases. Operations at the Jetport Maintenance Building occur 24/7, so the contractor is expected to cooperate fully with Jetport operations, being flexible in scheduling and sequencing to avoid disrupting operations. The area is not within the secure part of the Jetport but is adjacent to an active, secure airport area, so the contractor needs to be aware of and adapt to the surroundings. Bidders must submit a qualifications statement with their bid. No bid bond is required, but 100% payment and performance bonds will be required from the successful bidder prior to contract execution. Attendance at a pre-bid meeting is mandatory for all prospective contractors. Only those represented at this meeting may bid on the project. Questions regarding this bid shall be made in writing only and be sent to the Purchasing Office, being received no later than five working days prior to the bid opening, for this project that deadline is 12:00 noon on April 2nd, 2026.
