Sealed proposals from Qualified General Contractors will be received for Re-roofing Southside Elementary School. A cashier's check or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent of the bid, but no more than $10,000, must accompany the proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance are required at contract signing. Bid documents are available for examination at the architect's office, and digital versions may be received from the architect at no cost. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the architect or copies thereof. Only contractors who have been approved through prequalification procedures, attended the mandatory pre-bid conference, and have a main office within 60 miles driving distance of the project, as described in the pre-qualification package or Division 1 specifications and criteria established by the Owner, are eligible to bid. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if deemed in the Owner's best interest. Pre-qualification requirements: Contractors must submit a printed AIA form A305 in duplicate to the architect's office by the specified deadline. Only contractors who have completed prequalification, attended the mandatory pre-bid conference, and can provide 24/7/365 service with a nearby main office (within 60 miles of the project) are eligible. All bidders exceeding established licensing thresholds must be licensed under Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must display their current license number on the outside of the sealed proposal envelope.
