Sealed proposals will be received for the Paden Road & Tabor Road Resurfacing Project, Bid Request No. 3645, located in the City of Gadsden, Alabama. All bidders must be registered with the City of Gadsden Engineering Department. The bidder must submit with the bid either a cashier's check drawn on an Alabama bank, payable to the City of Gadsden, Alabama, or a bid bond executed by a surety company authorized in Alabama, in an amount equal to the lesser of five percent (5%) of the bid or ten thousand dollars ($10,000). The successful bidder must furnish and pay for the required Performance and Payment Bond and evidence of insurance within ten days after notification of award. Bidders must comply with all requirements of the public works bid law Section 39-2-1 et seq., Code of Alabama 1975, and all applicable provisions for licensing as a general contractor. The contract is tax-exempt. Bidders must affirm compliance with federal immigration law and certify they do not maintain or provide segregated facilities based on race, creed, color, sex, or national origin, and will make facilities handicap accessible as required by law. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any and all bids.
