The project consists of the construction of a Trailridge Stadium Storage Building and Batting Cages, which includes a one-story building of masonry and steel construction totaling approximately 800 square feet, along with associated site work at Trailridge Stadium in Waukee, IA. Lump-sum bids are required for general construction, including mechanical and electrical construction. Construction may begin following approval of required contracts, bonds, and insurance, and the project must be substantially complete by the specified deadline. Instructions to bidders include the following: Bids must be received before the specified deadline at the designated location; late or misdelivered bids will not be accepted. A pre-bid conference is scheduled, and while attendance is encouraged, it is not required. Bidders must provide a security deposit in the form of a bid bond or other specified instruments amounting to at least 5 percent of the base bid. The successful bidder must furnish a certificate of insurance and performance and labor and material payment bonds for 100% of the contract price. Bids must remain irrevocable for 30 days. The project is tax exempt; no Iowa State Sales Tax should be included in bids. Bidders should give preference to products and provisions produced or grown within Iowa. All bidders must provide a signed statement regarding their resident status using the designated form, and bids may be rejected if this is not included. The Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any bids or parts thereof and to waive informalities or irregularities as allowed by law.
