The City of Newcastle seeks a contractor to furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the SE 76th Street Non-motorized Improvements Project (CIP Project T-057). The project includes improving about 1,000 feet of non-motorized access along SE 76th Street by installing a bike lane and a sidewalk on the south side of SE 76th Street, providing pedestrians with a continuous safe route from 113th Avenue SE to 116th Avenue SE. Additional work includes driveway improvements, ADA curb ramp, new storm drain system, mailbox, and signage, all in accordance with the Contract Plans, Contract Provisions, and Standard Specifications. The estimated construction cost is $674,000 and work shall be completed within seventy working days after the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed. Proposals must be submitted electronically through the designated portal on the forms provided. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond, in an amount not less than five percent of the bid amount. A one hundred percent Contract Bond must be submitted by the successful bidder. Proposals received late or via fax/email will not be considered. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive minor irregularities or informalities, awarding the project to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as it best serves the City's interests.
