Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Newcastle, Washington. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The City of Newcastle seeks a contractor to furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the project referenced below. This project provides for retrofitting curb returns with curb ramps at the following intersections: SE 70th Street/127th Avenue SE (Site 1), SE 70th Street/128th Avenue SE (Site 2), and SE 71st Street/127th Place SE (Site 3); together with spot repairs within the following street corridors: SE 73rd Court (Site 4), SE 92nd Street (Site 5), SE 88th Way (Site 6), SE 79th Drive (Site 7), and SE 88th Place (Site 8). Work includes, but is not limited to, removal and replacement of pavement (includes repairing the subgrade), removal and replacement concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter (includes repairing subgrade), adjusting a utility casting to grade, traffic control and other work, all in accordance with the Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications. The work shall be physically completed within twenty (20) working days after the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed. Proposals are to be submitted only on the forms provided with Part 3 of these Contract Provisions. Substitutions will not be accepted during the bid process. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or surety company bid bond, on a form acceptable to the City, from a State-licensed Surety Company as surety, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount, payable to the City of Newcastle. A one hundred percent (100%) Contract Bond must be submitted by the Successful Low Bidder (herein after "Contractor"). The City of Newcastle expressly reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals and to waive minor irregularities or informalities and to Award the Project to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as it best serves the interests of the City. The City of Newcastle, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally- assisted programs of the Department of Transportation, issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award.
