Site work for a water / sewer project in Marquette, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Project consists of water main replacement and associated Jack and Bore and Street Patching on First Street United States Business Highway '18' State Trunk Highway '76'. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis, with additive alternate bid items as indicated in the Bid Form. The letting of the work described herein is subject to the provisions of the Iowa Statutes. The Work under the Contract for each section shall commence on or before the date specified in a written Notice To Proceed and shall be fully completed and ready for operation on or before May 28, 2026. Bidder accepts the provisions of the Agreement as to Liquidated Damages of $1,000.00 per day for Substantial Completion in the event of failure to complete the Work within the Contract Time. Payment for the Work completed will be determined by the Engineer pursuant to the General Conditions and in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 573 Code of Iowa. Preference shall be given to domestic construction materials by the contractor, subcontractors, material, workers, and suppliers in performance of the contract and, further, by virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor, to the extent lawfully required under Iowa Statutes, providing that the award of the Contract will be made to the lowest responsible Bidder submitting the lowest acceptable Bid, which shall be without regard to state or local law whereby preference is given on factors other than the amount of the Bid. The Bidder shall not include sales tax in the bid. The City of Marquette, Iowa will distribute tax exemption certificates and authorization letters to the contractor and all subcontractors who are identified. The contractor and subcontractor may make copies of the tax exemption certificates and provide a copy to each supplier providing construction materials. These tax exemption certificates and authorization letters are applicable only for this specific project under the Contract. Question Deadline 04/10/2026
