Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Marquette, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; sidewalk / parking lot; and road / highway.

The work consists of the reconstruction of Chicago Street. The improvements will include street excavation and construction/installation of streets, sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, and landscaping as shown on the plans, indicated in the specifications, and detailed in the “Iowa Statewide Urban Design and Specifications (SUDAS),” as modified. Bids will be received for a single prime contract on a lump sum and unit price basis, with additive alternate bid items as indicated in the Bid Form. The letting of the work is subject to the provisions of the Iowa Statutes. The contractor is to commence work as specified in the Notice to Proceed and achieve substantial completion by June 30, 2026. A provision for liquidated damages applies for failure to complete on time. All bids must be submitted on the forms provided by the Owner, in a sealed envelope, and identified. A Bid Bond or certified check equal to 5% of the total bid is required. If awarded, the bidder must file the proper contract and bond within 15 days or risk forfeiture of the bid security. Online bidders must deliver the original bid bond or check within 72 hours of bid opening. Bids may not be withdrawn within 90 days after opening. The Owner reserves the right to increase, decrease, or omit any portion of the work and to reject any or all bids. Preference will be given to domestic materials and Iowa products and labor as required by statute. Sales tax exemption certificates will be provided for this project, and bidders should not include sales tax in the bid.
