Renovation of an educational facility in Westminster, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and educational facility.
Sealed bids are requested for the HVAC Upgrade & Modernization at Schroeder Elementary School and Willmore Elementary School. The bid documents cover two separate projects with the same scope of work. Bidders may submit bids for one or both projects separately. If bidding on both, bidders must confirm in writing that they have the capacity to complete both projects on time by signing an affidavit. The District has increased liquidated damages for these projects due to the requirement for timely completion. All terms, conditions, and requirements apply to both projects. Bids must be submitted on the forms provided. Bids received late or after extensions due to material changes will be returned unopened. All designated subcontractors must be listed as required by law. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive irregularities or informalities. Each bid must strictly conform with and be responsive to the contract documents as defined in the General Conditions. Pre-qualification requirements: Prospective bidders must submit completed prequalification documents provided by the District in accordance with California Public Contract Code section 20111.6. Bids will not be accepted if the General Contractor has not been prequalified where required. Prequalification documents are available through PQ Bids and must be submitted by the deadline. Mechanical, electrical, or plumbing subcontractors holding specific licenses (C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, or C-46) must also be prequalified. Each bidder must possess a valid and active B or A license at the time of bid and throughout the contract. Subcontractors must be licensed pursuant to California law for the necessary trades. Bidders must attend the mandatory pre-bid conference and job walk at both project locations to be eligible to bid on both projects. Any contractor who fails to attend will be deemed non-responsive and have its bid returned unopened. The California State License number must be clearly stated on the proposal. Each bidder shall submit a list of designated subcontractors with their bid on the provided form. Each contractor's prequalification rating can be checked online after submission of documents. The list of prequalified MEP subcontractors will be made available at least five business days prior to bid opening. It is the bidder's responsibility to ensure all MEP subcontractors are properly prequalified before submitting a bid. The prequalification requirement also applies to subcontractors holding the listed licenses even if the work designated does not require such licenses.
