Bids shall be for furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials in accordance with the plans and specifications. Each bidder must submit a satisfactory certified or cashiers check, cash, or bidders bond on the citys bond form in favor of the City, executed by an admitted surety insurer authorized to issue such bonds in California, in an amount equal to at least 10% of the amount bid. This security will be forfeited should the successful bidder fail to timely execute the contract and deliver the necessary bonds and insurance as specified. No contract will be awarded except to a contractor properly licensed according to California law. The contractor must possess a valid Class A Contractors License at the time the bid is submitted. The City will verify this before awarding the contract. Prevailing wages are required for all work on this public works project, covering both contractors and subcontractors. Bidders must ensure subcontractors are informed and paid prevailing wages on the project. All bids must be based on the contract documents, including the Notice Inviting Bids, Information Required of Bidder, Contract, all Provisions, Construction Plans, Drawings and Details, the Bid, and any Technical Specifications, which are incorporated by reference.
