The Town of Fairfax is requesting sealed bids from qualified contractors to furnish, haul, and deliver approximately 2,500 cubic yards of highway sand or crushed gravel to locations within the Town. Material specifications require clean, angular, well-graded sand or gravel, with a maximum size of 3/4 inch and a minimum size of 3/8 inch, free of clay, organic matter, or debris, and compliant with VTrans specifications or an approved equivalent. Delivery locations will be provided by the Department of Public Works, with deliveries required Monday through Thursday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, and 48-hour notice before delivery. Certified scale tickets are required for all loads, and delivery must be completed within 30–60 days of contract award unless otherwise approved. All materials are subject to inspection, and materials that do not meet specifications may be rejected at no cost to the Town. Bidders must provide proof of required insurance, material source location, and a delivery schedule. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope labeled as instructed.
