Work consists of providing first time sanitary sewer service to existing residences along Bluebonnet Street, Andrew Avenue and Vega Street within the Sharyland Meadows Subdivision. Service is to be provided to the property line; septic tank decommissioning and yard line are not included in this contract. Bidders are required to submit a bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Alton or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the bid bond. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, handicap or national origin. Bidders must comply with the President's Executive Order No. 11246, as amended by Executive Order 11275, and as supplemented in Department of Labor regulations 41 CFR Part 60. The City of Alton reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in the bidding. In case of ambiguity or lack of clarity in stating prices in any bid, the Owner reserves the right to consider the most advantageous construction thereof or to reject the bid. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. Bids may be held by the City of Alton for a period not to exceed 90 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award.
