Reference Number 0000421301 Bid Intent Not Available The work to be done includes but is not limited to alterations to the existing Olive Avenue Rail Crossing and must be completed in compliance with California Public Utilities Commission (Commission/CPUC) General Order 88-B. Installation of three Omega concrete crossing panels; two modified junction boxes; two foundations for future pedestrian automatic gate arms; custom wing walls; relocation of vehicular automatic gate arm including new foundation; 4' x 5' chain link fence panel Z gates (typical of 2) with required signage; installation of two stencils - watch for train; 4' chain link fence; truncated domes; sidewalk / 10' wide concrete pedestrian pathway, curbs & gutters; placement of hot mix asphalt - roadway widening; K-rail; electrical pull box and two 4" conduits for future connection; 24" stop limit line; installation of new traffic signs and other items or details not mentioned above that are required by the contract documents. More specifically, pursuant to Public Contract Code 20170 and 20171, all bids for the project shall be presented, under sealed cover and shall be accompanied by one of the following forms of bidder's security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid: (a) cash; (b) a cashier's check made payable to the City of Novato; (c) a certified check made payable to the City of Novato; or (d) a bidder's bond executed by an admitted surety insurer, made payable to the City of Novato. Such security shall be forfeited should the successful bidder to whom the contract is awarded fails to timely execute the contract and to deliver the necessary bonds and insurance certificates as specified in the contract documents.
