Sealed bids are requested for chip sealing various Town roads. Bids must be based on lump sum bid information and include standard prices and quantities as specified. The Town reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, or remove portions of the project for budgetary or other purposes. Chip sealing work must occur when pavement and air temperatures are 60°F or higher, with no rain forecast before curing, and all work must be completed by August 1, 2026. Preparation includes cleaning the surface, patching holes, watering and rolling gravel roads before sealcoating, and performing full-width work as marked by the Town. The contractor must supply and apply PG 58-28 5% Cutback Liquid Asphalt from a certified facility, and haul, place, and roll 3/8-inch fractured pea stone aggregate from the Town stockpile according to the specified rates. Contractors are responsible for all machinery, labor, traffic control, and incidentals required to clean, sealcoat, and roll the listed roads. All work will be conducted under traffic unless otherwise instructed. Bidders must provide a cost for each proposed road and include standard price information for single-seal and double-seal surfaces, as well as optional pea stone supply. Before work begins, contractors must provide proof of required insurance coverage, naming the Town as an additional insured. The contract must include a 1-year warranty, and the contractor must maintain necessary workers' compensation, liability, property, and automobile insurance as specified.
