This project involves water improvements to address water main breaks and to improve overall pressures in the area, specifically in the Tri-City Heights neighborhood and around Vista Elementary School. The affected roadways include W. Umatilla Ave., W. Victoria Ave., W. Willamette Ave., N. Colorado St., N. Belfair St., and N. Young St. The work includes the installation of approximately 1,723 linear feet of 8-inch PVC water main, 1,460 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron water main, 728 linear feet of 1-inch service lines to 24 existing meters, 5 new fire hydrant assemblies, water valves, and all associated fittings needed to complete the water line work. The project also requires abandonment of the existing steel water system in place, trench pavement restoration, concrete sidewalk and curb replacement, landscaping, and other miscellaneous work to restore the project area. All bid proposals must be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid proposal amount. If the successful bidder fails to enter into the contract and furnish a satisfactory performance bond within the specified time, the bid proposal deposit will be forfeited. The City of Kennewick reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. The City will post any Addenda and Bidder questions & answers solely through online.
