Renovation of an educational facility in Albemarle, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a 18,016-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.
SCC is seeking a designer for the Whitley Roof Replacement project at the Whitley Technology Center, which was constructed in 1999 with an addition completed in 2003. The building consists of a gravel roof, original to the dates of construction, and is single-story with 18,016 sq. ft. The project consists of the complete removal of the current roofing system, which is to be replaced with either a Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) roof system or a FiberTite roof system. Proposing firms must submit a Letter of Interest, a current Standard Form 254 (SF 254), and licensing information via e-submissions only. Firms must be properly licensed to practice Architecture, Engineering, or Landscape Architecture in the State of North Carolina. Submittals should not include notebooks, binders, tabs, clips, etc., and should be formatted as 8-1/2" x 11" pages stapled in the upper left-hand corner. The Letter of Interest should not exceed ten single-sided pages or five double-sided pages plus the SF 254. E-mail and fax submittals will not be accepted. Selection criteria include specialized expertise, past performance, adequate staff and proposed design team, workload and State projects awarded, proposed design approach, recent experience with project costs and schedules, construction administration capabilities, proximity/familiarity with the area, record of successful project completion, and other appropriate factors.
