The project involves the construction of Kinler and Paul Frederick Roadway and Drainage Improvements Phase I. The work includes installing drainage lines running perpendicular to Kinler and Paul Frederick streets and tying them into the canal adjacent to Kinler. Additional work includes drainage improvements along Hackberry Street and Brooklyn Street, with pavement to be replaced as required. Separate sealed bids are required and can be submitted by registered or certified mail, hand delivery, or electronically. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to disregard nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids. Bidding documents are available to properly licensed contractors or bona fide suppliers at the office of the Engineer for the contract, EJES, Inc. A payment of $100.00 is required for each set of bidding documents, refundable as provided by law. Each bidder must deposit with their bid security in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid in the form of a certified check, cashier’s check, or bid bond. If the bid is submitted electronically and a certified or cashier’s check is used for bid bond, the actual check must be delivered to the specified office. The outside of the bid envelope must contain the submitting firm’s name, Louisiana Contractor's License Number, the project number, and the project title. St. Charles Parish encourages participation by small, minority-owned firms, and women’s business enterprises. Purchases for this project are exempt from state sales and use tax as allowed by law, but contractors are responsible for meeting all requirements of applicable statutes and taxes.
