Market research is being conducted to identify interested and capable sources for the fabrication, delivery, and installation of replacement exterior shade canopies at an atrium serving an operational communications facility. The existing shade canopies have exceeded their service life and no longer meet structural, safety, or appearance standards due to age and environmental exposure. The work includes removal of the existing canopies and installation of five new exterior shade canopies, each approximately 30 feet by 30 feet in size. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and professional services required to complete the work, including fabrication using commercial-grade, fire-resistant shade cloth available in multiple colors, delivery, and installation. The contractor is responsible for field verification and precise measurement of all canopy locations prior to fabrication. Installation will generally utilize existing cables and hardware; however, replacement of components is required as necessary to ensure proper fit, structural integrity, and safe operation. All work must comply with applicable codes and standards, including Unified Facilities Criteria, Air Force Occupational Safety and Health requirements, National Fire Protection Association standards, Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations, the California Building Code, and all applicable installation-specific requirements.
