Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Durango, Colorado. Working plans call for the construction of a power facility; and for site work for a power facility.
The project is a proposal to build a 5 MW/20MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to integrate with the existing solar array and electrical substation at the Sunnyside location addressed as 299 CR 218. The project qualifies for an Administrative Permit Review process under the 1041 Powers in the La Plata County Land Use Code, Chapter 69. The project will be processed under a single application with a related solar array expansion project according to the definition of ''project'' found in Section 69-2 of the Land Use Code. Any affected party may appeal the determination by filing a written appeal with specificity regarding their interest in the matter, relationship to the project and applicant, and the grounds for appeal within ten days of publication. Upon a timely appeal, the board will review the director's determination within fourteen days and may amend it based on the submitted materials and applicable code provisions. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. "Requests for proposals for design services is underway."
