The project is located on CR 200 W that crosses Salt Creek at approximately 0.3 miles South of US 6, Sections 27, 28, Township 36 North, and Range 6 West in Liberty Township of Porter County, Laporte District, Indiana. The project consists of the replacement of an existing bridge with a new single-span bridge. The overall purpose of the project is to replace the existing structurally deficient bridge and improve the conveyance of Salt Creek under the bridge. The work consists of the replacement of an existing bridge with a new single-span bridge on CR 200 W over Salt Creek in Porter County, Indiana. The main objectives are replacing the structurally deficient bridge and improving the conveyance of Salt Creek under the bridge. The new structure will be a single-span prestressed concrete box beam bridge with a total deck length of 44-6 5/8 and a span of 43-0, supported on reinforced concrete abutments on steel H-piles. The bridge cross-section will include two 11-0 travel lanes and two 3-8 shoulders for a clear roadway of 29-4. Type FC bridge will be installed, with an out-to-out coping width of 32-4. Reinforced concrete approaches will be constructed behind both abutments. The bridge will have a 15 skew to the channel, and the structure elevation will provide at least 1-0 of freeboard above the Q100 elevation. The project also includes demolition and removal of the existing structure, installation of the proposed structure, and all duties and furnishing of labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals necessary or convenient for project completion.
