The City of Union Gap is requesting qualifications from a qualified architectural/engineering team to plan, design, and develop a budget for remodeling and expanding an existing fire station. This effort is focused on planning and conceptual design, and includes evaluating the current facility, working with staff to define needs, and preparing a clear design direction with reliable cost estimates. The project goals are to remodel portions of the existing station, add new space (with size and scope to be determined), improve day-to-day functionality, bring the building up to current codes and standards, and develop a realistic project budget for funding decisions. Scope of services includes reviewing the site and existing building, meeting with City staff and fire personnel to identify needs, helping define the project scope and priorities, developing layout concepts and options, providing cost estimates at key milestones, and preparing drawings and documents as the project advances. Submissions should include a firm overview, experience with similar projects (fire stations or public safety facilities preferred), key team members, a general approach to this type of project, and 2–3 references (public sector preferred). Selection will be evaluated based on relevant experience, strength of the proposed team, understanding of the project, and references. Standard city requirements apply, including business licensing and insurance. Minority, Women, and Veteran-owned firms are encouraged to apply. The City reserves the right to reject any or all submittals and to waive minor irregularities.
