Sealed bids are solicited for the proposed renovation at the Brick Campus of the Ocean County Vocational Technical School, encompassing Contract No. 1 (Restroom Renovation & Related Items), Contract No. 2 (Locker Replacement & Related Items), and Contract No. 3 (Combined Bid 1 & 2). Bidders must submit two paper copies (one original and one copy) and one electronic copy on a USB flash drive in a sealed envelope. If the USB drive cannot be submitted at the time of bid opening, it must be supplied within 24 hours. All bidders must comply with Affirmative Action, Prevailing Wage Act, Public Schools Contract Law, and hold a valid Public Works Contractor's Registration Certificate. The project is governed by a Project Labor Agreement, and prequalification with the Department of the Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction is required for bids exceeding $20,000. Prequalification documents, bid security (10% of the total bid up to $20,000), and a firm price for 60 days (with a possible extension) are required. There will be a pre-bid meeting at the project site which is not mandatory but recommended. The project is scheduled to start around July 16, 2026, and be completed by September 11, 2026, allowing 57 calendar days for construction. There is a $500 daily liquidated damages clause for late completion. The Board of Education may adjust estimated quantities as specified. The term of the awarded contract is nine months from the bid award date unless otherwise noted.
