Site work and paving for a road / highway in Simpson, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
Sealed proposals are sought for two contracts: the 2026 Road Paving Bid and the 2026 Seal Coat Bid. All materials and workmanship must comply with PennDOT Publication 408 - Specifications, and bidders must be PennDOT prequalified. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to ten percent of the total bid. The successful bidder is required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds, each for one hundred percent of the contract price, within twenty days following the award. Contract completion deadlines are September 30, 2026, for the Road Paving Contract and September 15, 2026, for the Seal Coat Contract. Liquidated damages of $875 per day apply for delays beyond the completion dates. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals or portions thereof, delete projects or portions due to budget constraints or projected bituminous price adjustments, and waive technicalities in the best interest of the Township. Both contracts include an Escalator Clause for quantities of bituminous material under 100 tons of asphalt cement. PA Prevailing Wages apply only to the 2026 Road Paving Project. Bids must be clearly marked as either the "2026 Road Paving Bid" or the "2026 Seal Coat Bid."
