Renovation of an educational facility in Meriden, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The City of Meriden is soliciting bids in seeking the services of a contractor to remove and replace approximately 4,088 sq ft of flooring at Edison Middle School. The flooring contractor shall, rip out, remove, and properly dispose of the existing flooring prior to prepping and installing the new flooring. The flooring contractor shall also be responsible for providing dumpsters for the disposal of the flooring material and maintain them through the duration of the project. The contractor is to install Mapie Planiseal, Sika MB, Ardex MC Rapid 20-year warranted epoxy moisture mitigation system or equivalent before installing new VCT to match existing patterns. Floor grinding will be performed with a HEPA vacuum attached, but it is not 100% dust free. Precautions should be made by others to move, cover, and/or protect delicate surrounding surfaces. Furniture moving and VCT waxing to be done by others. Work could be completed during the summer hours of 6:00 am to 2:30 pm daily. Question Deadline 07/08/2026 at 4:00 PM ET Online question deadline Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in the amount of Ten (10%) percent of the amount bid. Labor and Material Payment Bond and a Performance Bond for One Hundred Percent (100%) of the contract price, with a corporate surety approved by the City of Meriden, will be required of the lowest responsible bidder. This bid/contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including setaside (25% SBE and 6.25% M/W/DisBE) and non-discrimination requirements enforced by the CHRO. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to award any item, group of items, or total bid, and to waive informality or technical defects, if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Meriden.
