The City of Meriden is soliciting bids in seeking the services of a contractor to remove and replace approximately 4,088 sq ft of flooring at Edison Middle School. The flooring contractor shall, rip out, remove, and properly dispose of the existing flooring prior to prepping and installing the new flooring. The flooring contractor shall also be responsible for providing dumpsters for the disposal of the flooring material and maintain them through the duration of the project. The contractor is to install Mapie Planiseal, Sika MB, Ardex MC Rapid 20-year warranted epoxy moisture mitigation system or equivalent before installing new VCT to match existing patterns. Floor grinding will be performed with a HEPA vacuum attached, but it is not 100% dust free. Precautions should be made by others to move, cover, and/or protect delicate surrounding surfaces. Furniture moving and VCT waxing to be done by others. Work could be completed during the summer hours of 6:00 am to 2:30 pm daily. Labor and Material Payment Bond and a Performance Bond for One Hundred Percent (100%) of the contract price, with a corporate surety approved by the City of Meriden, will be required of the lowest responsible bidder. This bid/contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including setaside (25% SBE and 6.25% M/W/DisBE) and non-discrimination requirements enforced by the CHRO.
