The project involves the replacement of 30 steel pilings (10 inches diameter, 60 feet length) using the vibration method. Scope includes installing new bird deterrent caps, removing four existing piles associated with the center launch dock, installing and bolting a new center launch dock, and removing the existing metal ramp and walkway associated with the old guide dock. The intent of this contract is to replace 30 steel pilings in the Hammond Marina by the vibration method. Contractor will also remove and replace center loading dock on launch ramp with new dock fabricated by Topper Industries . The following is a brief summary of the major elements of work that are to be provided by the contractor 1. Replace 30 steel pilings that are 10 inches in diameter, map with locations is attached. 2. Follow current DSL permit requirements during replacement, permit attached. 3. No requirements for domestic steel 4. Minimum wall thickness shall be .375" 5. New piles to be bare/uncoated 6. Estimated pile lengths for replacement are 60', approximately 30' required embedment depth of piles. 7. Contractor will be required to install new bird deterrent caps on the top of piles. 8. Center Launch Dock Replacement: During pile replacement activities, the Contractor shall remove four (4) existing piles associated with the center launch dock. The Contractor shall place and bolt the new dock into position in accordance with the attached manufacturer's installation instructions and install new piles to secure the dock. The Contractor shall also remove and properly dispose of the existing center launch dock. 9. Old Guide Dock Removal : The Contractor shall remove the metal ramp and remaining walkway associated with the old guide dock, including the portion of the walkway that has fallen into the marina. Existing piles shall remain in place and are not to be removed. Refer to the attached photographs for the location and existing conditions.
