The City of Auburn is accepting written proposals for the Engineering Department's 2025 Reclamation Project. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals in whole or in part and to waive any informality the City may determine necessary. The City also reserves to itself the exclusive right to accept any proposal when it is deemed by the City to be in its best interest. The City of Auburn is governed by Title 1 M.R.S.A. 401-410, otherwise known as the Freedom of Information Act, which considers bid specifications as public documents. In awarding any proposal, the City may consider, but not be limited to, any of the following factors: Bidder qualifications, price, experience, financial standing with the City, warranties, references, bonding, delivery date, and service of Bidder. Vendors/Contractors shall be current on all amounts due to the City of Auburn prior to the City entering into any contract agreement. All proposals must include FOB to Auburn, Maine unless otherwise specified. Proposals will not receive consideration unless submitted in accordance with the following instructions to bidders. SCOPE OF WORK The following scope of work is being proposed for the 2025 Reclamation Project for the City of Auburn. The scope of work is a brief overview of the expected extent of work on each street included in this contract. This is only a proposed scope with associated estimated quantities. Items, extent and entire streets may be added or deleted as work progresses or to meet the available funding for this work. Hersey Hill Road - North Auburn Road to Town Line Proposed dimensions: 5,280' x 22' with 1' gravel shoulder Install/Replace proposed cross culverts and driveway culverts Install proposed underdrains Reclaim existing roadway surface and grade reclaimed material to 2% crown Add 6" of Type A gravel. Taper to butt joints at project limits and intersection aprons Pave 2" of 12.5mm HMA base and 1.5" of 12.5mm HMA surface Box cut areas on plans will receive 15" Type D gravel and 3" Type A gravel with geotextile fabric at the bottom of the cut Match driveway aprons. Type A gravel, 2" 12.5mm HMA base, 1" 9.5mm HMA surface Install concrete slipform curbing as show on plans Reestablish ditching and inslopes. Common borrow to be used in areas to decrease roadside slopes Loam, seed and mulch disturbed grass areas and as directed Reset existing mailboxes Perkins Ridge Road - Garfield Road to West Shore Road Proposed dimensions: 4,650' x 22' with 1' gravel shoulders Install/Replace proposed cross culverts, driveway culverts and 6" underdrains Reclaim existing roadway surface and grade reclaimed material to 2% crown Box cut areas on plans will receive 15" Type D gravel and 3" Type A gravel with geotextile fabric at the bottom of the cut One area to be raised with fabric and Type D gravel shown on plans (400LF) Pave with 2" of 12.5mm HMA base and 1.5: of 12.5mm HMA surface Match driveway aprons. Type A gravel, 2" 12.5mm HMA base, 1" 9.5mm HMA surface Install concrete slipform curbing as show on plans Reestablish ditching and inslopes. Liquidated damages of $500/calendar day will be assessed on uncompleted work.
