The City of Auburn is accepting written proposals for the Engineering Department's Mount Auburn Avenue - Pavement Mill and HMA Overlay Project. The City reserves the right to accept or reject all proposals in whole or in part and waive any informality the City may determine necessary. The City also reserves to itself the exclusive right to accept any proposal when it is deemed by the City to be in its best interest. The City of Auburn is governed by Title 1 M.R.S.A. 401-410, or the Freedom of Information Act, which considers bid specifications public documents. In awarding any proposal, the City may consider, but not be limited to, any of the following factors: Bidder qualifications, price, experience, financial standing with the City, warranties, references, bonding, delivery date, and service of Bidder. Vendors/Contractors shall be current on all amounts due to the City of Auburn prior to the City entering into any contract agreement. All proposals must include FOB to Auburn, Maine, unless otherwise specified. A bid bond shall be submitted with appropriate bid forms in the amount of 5% of the total contract value. Also, payment and performance bonds will be required from the contractor who is awarded this contract. Retainage in the amount of 10% will be held from each progress payment and shall be released at the discretion of the Project Engineer. Payments shall be made by the City to the Contractor 30 days after receipt of the request for payment. The scope of work is a brief overview of the expected extent of work included in this contract. Mount Auburn Avenue - Pavement Mill and HMA Overlay Project - Base Bid 1.5" pavement mill and HMA overlay on Mount Auburn Avenue beginning on the east side of the BJ's Wholesale entrance and extending east 0.22 miles to Turner Street. Provide updates to existing drainage structures as deemed necessary by the City of Auburn. o Replace three (3) existing granite curb headstones. Provide new striping and updated signage within the project limits. Mount Auburn Avenue Pavement Mill and HMA Overlay Project - Bid Alternate #1 Adjustment of water and sewer structures within the project limits. o The four (4) curb stops noted in Bid Alternate #1 are not traditional service boxes.
