The Ellis County Building and Ground Department is requesting proposals for the removal and replacement of a concrete sidewalk on the south side of the Law Enforcement Center. Approval of the project will be determined upon review of all available criteria, including but not limited to price, quality of prior work per references, timeline to complete the project, suitability for intended use, and other information as may be considered by the Ellis County Building and Grounds Department that is in the best interest of the County. Any contractor or interested party with concerns or questions regarding the construction project must contact the Ellis County Building and Grounds Department no later than three days prior to the proposal deadline. The Ellis County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, limit the scope of the project, or waive technicalities to complete the project that would be in the best interest of the county. The sidewalk and curbing on the south side of the Law Enforcement Center, next to the parking lot, has become cracked and started to heave up in areas. Ellis County is looking to replace the sidewalk and repair the curbing that is broken. Since this is near the parking lot for the Court system, and some of the parking lot will be unusable, scheduling will have to be coordinated with the District Court. Scope of work: 1. Remove approximately 1800 sq. ft. of sidewalk 2. Remove approximately 20 ft. of curbing 3. Dispose of all debris 4. Prep the site for the new concrete 5. Pour concrete sidewalk at 4, reinforcing with wire mesh as necessary 6. Pour curbing to match existing, reinforcing with rebar 7. Finish concrete for outdoor foot traffic 8. Pull all forms and clean-up site, including leveling ground between sidewalk and street Contractor will include all labor and materials to finish the job in the bid. This includes, but not limited to the concrete, sand, gravel, any reinforcement metal, and any expansion and isolation joint filler strips. The Contractor will secure all applicable permits. Scope of work must be completed within 6 months of acceptance of proposal or the contract will be considered null and void. Please include the estimated number of days for completion of the project. Ellis County reserves the right to reject all bids/proposals. In the event we receive two substantially equal bids, Ellis County will award the bid to the business that resides in Ellis County vs. a business outside of Ellis County.
