Site work and paving for a civil project in Waterbury, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
The Project consists of East Main Street Utility Improvements as detailed and described in the Bid Documents. The project includes replacement of the water main and appurtenances and sanitary sewer rehabilitation in East Main Street between North Main Street and North Elm Street, including work in the intersections. Water main work involves replacement of the shut off valves, hydrants and other appurtenances in the street and behind the curbs. The repair work to the sewer requires point repairs at select locations. Segments of water main and sanitary sewer will be relined with Cured-in-Place Pipe lining. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services ("DAS") under the provisions of CONN. GEN. STAT. 4a-60g. (25% of the work with DAS certified Small and Minority owned businesses and 25% of that work with DAS certified Minority, Women and/or Disabled owned businesses.) The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% setaside goals.
