Bridge Location: 1353 Tagart Road East Greenville, PA 18041. The project involves the replacement of an existing stone arch with a precast concrete arch bridge. Clarification Deadline: 7/31/2020 5:00 PM The Board of Supervisors will consider the proposals and tentatively award at their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. Proposals shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the proposal. Proposals shall be effective for 90 days from the date of opening. The successful low bidder will be required to provide a 100% performance bond or certified check, a 100% payment bond or certified check, a workers compensation affidavit, and a certificate of insurance naming Upper Hanover Township and LTL Consultants as additional insureds, all within 20 days after the contract is awarded. Project is to be substantially completed by December 31, 2020. Liquidated damages apply at the rate of $400.00 per calendar day. The Work to be performed by the Contractor shall consist of furnishing all labor, tools, supplies, materials, transportation, services, superintendence and all other items necessary and/or required for a complete in-place installation of all the items specified herein. All workmanship and materials shall conform to PennDOT Publication 408, Specifications, and all other documents specified on the design drawings. Project is for the replacement of the existing stone arch bridge on Tagart Road over the Macoby Creek. Project involves the removal of two trees, the existing stone and concrete arch bridge, guiderail and roadway. Note that some of the guiderail is to be retained and reset. The replacement structure is a precast concrete arch with a span of twenty-six feet (26'-0") and a ten foot (10') rise, forty feet (40'-0") long with precast headwall and wingwalls on the upstream side and modular block wall on the downstream side. Additional work includes installing rip-rap aprons and rip-rap stream bank protection, installation of a concrete inlet box and eight feet (8') of 18" RCP, 175 linear feet of new guiderail and 125 feet of existing guiderail is to be reset. Installation of approximately 100 feet of a six foot wide walking trail and four foot high chainlink fence. Approximately 150 feet of the 22-foot wide roadway will be reconstructed as part of the project. The base course shall be installed with temporary pavement markings in order to open the road to traffic. The final wearing surface shall be installed in the spring of 2021.
