Project work includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for the Hillandale Road and Northwest Boulevard, and W 76 th Street and Northwest Boulevard intersection improvement. The work on Hillandale Road and Northwest Boulevard intersection involves the widening of the west approach (83 rd St) to add a dedicated left-turn lane, the removal and installation of the eastbound traffic signal pole and mast arm, and the installation of additional left-turn signal heads on all four pole, and other related construction. The work on W 76 th Street and Northwest Boulevard involves the complete reconstruction of the west approach, including the addition of a dedicated left-turn lane, removal of the median and the construction of a new access to the business on the south (gas station, McDonald's), and installation of a traffic signal, and other related construction. It is recommended that Contractors become familiar with existing site conditions prior to bidding. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities, if it is deemed in the public interest to do so. For all bids over $100,000, the City of Davenport requires a Bid Bond of 5% of the bid amount. A copy of the front page of the bid bond must be attached in the "Response Attachments" tab of the bid package. Bids over $100,000, submitted without a bid bond will not be considered. For awarded bids over $100,000, the awarded contractor will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount, and said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained. Working Days - The City Council is expected to approve award of the contract on January 12, 2022. Contractor shall be prepared to attend a Pre-Construction meeting after the contract is awarded and before the start of the construction. The execution of contract documents shall be expedited to allow for an expected project start during the week of April 4, 2022. The Contractor will be required to have the project substantially completed by July 1, 2022. Substantial completion shall include all project work including pavement marking and fully operational traffic signals, with the exception of project seeding, which may be delayed due to application restrictions.
