Site work, remodeling and renovation of a power facility in Clatskanie, Oregon. Completed plans call for the remodel of a power facility.
The purpose of this contract is to obtain design/build services to examine the existing control house, analyze bridging documents, and complete a design to comply with project requirements for BPA review. Upon BPA approval of the design and notice to proceed, construct the improvements to the facility. The Control House is located within the Driscoll Substation in Westport, OR. The 1967 single-story building is approximately 1,295 SF in size and was constructed of lightly reinforced CMU block with a wood framed roof. A seismic evaluation performed in 2010 determined that the structural system of the building needs to be upgraded to improve the life safety of staff and to maintain substation operability in the event of a Cascadia Subduction Zone (CSZ) 9.0+ Earthquake.
