The City of Moravia, Iowa, has struggled in recent years with excessive inflow and infiltration (I/I) in their sanitary sewer collection system. The purpose of this project is to fix defects in the collection system which will reduce I/I. It is the intent of the drawings and specifications to rehabilitate existing sanitary sewer, make point repairs, and rehabilitate manholes. The proposed improvements include lining approximately 1,700 linear feet of existing sewer main, grout sealing the joints of approximately 2,300 linear feet of existing sewer main, making 12 point repairs to the existing sanitary sewer main, various repairs to 14 sanitary sewer manholes, surface restoration, and miscellaneous appurtenant work normally associated with a sanitary sewer rehabilitation project. The proposed sanitary sewer improvements listed shall be substantially completed, except for the final grading and seeding, on or before December 16, 2022, and shall be fully completed on or before May 31, 2023. The Bidder agrees to pay as liquidated damages the sum of $1000 for each consecutive calendar day after the specified completion dates that the project is not fully completed.
