Demolition, site work and new construction of a museum in Duluth, Minnesota. Completed plans call for the demolition of a museum; and for the construction of a museum.
As of February 25, 2025, per owner, when this was put out for bid a few years ago, they did not receive any responses. The building was recently demolished. DEDA is seeking a qualified developer whose project will preserve the Pastoret buildings to historic standards while creating reuse opportunities for the currently vacant and blighted property. The intent is for proposals to adhere to the Governing Principles in Duluth's comprehensive plan, Imagine Duluth 2035. Projects that include demolition of existing structures will not be considered, although modifications to reestablish historic integrity will be considered and evaluated. The primary purpose of this RFP process is to identify a qualified entity that has identified experience and vision to design and complete a quality historic restoration project consistent with objectives stated above and provide for reuse of the Property which will benefit both the developer and the Duluth downtown. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
