Renovation of a municipal facility in Danville, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

The contractor shall provide all labor, permits, materials, equipment, supervision, & incidentals necessary to complete the roof replacement for the Salt Dome ( roughly 10,500 Sq/ft) and Sand Dome ( Roughly 6,500 Sq/ft). Work included in this section but not limited to the principal items. 1. Remove existing shingles and materials down to the roof deck. Re-nail any loose wood. 3. Replace any discovered bad or rotten sheathing and structural roof members. 4. Replace all existing wood trim and T-11 siding with like-kind materials . 5. Install an ice and water barrier on the entire structure. 6. Install new flashing at valley points, step flashing and curb flashing, drip edge, and starter strips around the perimeter. 7. Install new 3 tab or dimensional shingles. (Minimum 25-year warranty). 8. Install Hip & Ridge Shingles. 9. Replace existing roof vent system with like-kind materials. 10. Provide a dumpster for removal of debris. The job site will need to be thoroughly cleaned daily to minimize punctured tires due to the high flow of traffic in the area. 11. The jobsite does not have, nor will provide facilities for workers. A pre-bid conference will not be held for this project Bonds: 5% Bid bond; 100% performance and payment bonds will be required if proposals are over $500,000 Time of Completion: Sixty (60) calendar days. Liquidated Damages: Two hundred dollars ($200) per calendar day. The award will be made to the proposal conforming to the RFP and will be most advantageous to the city. Lump sum bid, project schedule and other factors will be considered, including but not limited to, statement of qualifications, project approach, quality, etc. The selection committee will make a recommendation of the top-ranked respondent. Danville may elect to make award without conducting formal interviews if one firm is determined to be the most qualified. The Contractor shall not commence work under this contract until they have obtained all the insurance required hereunder and such insurance has been approved by the City; nor shall the Contractor allow any Subcontractor to commence work on his subcontract until all similar insurance has been so obtained and approved. Approval of the insurance by the City shall not relieve or decrease the liability of the Contractor hereunder.
