The City of Richmond has over 100,000 trees (streets, city-owned property and parks) under its current maintenance program. The pruning of the City's trees contributes to the health of our urban forest. Work shall consist of tree pruning and maintenance within the City of Richmond. All services provided under this contract shall be performed by competent, experienced workers in a professional manner taking any and all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of the City of Richmond community. Each worker shall be outfitted with the appropriate tools and equipment to complete the job properly and safely while meeting all applicable ANSI Standards as well as all local, state, and federal regulations. The City of Richmond shall have the right at any time to refuse or determine unacceptable work by the Contractor. The work shall be corrected within five (5) calendar days to the satisfaction of the City Representative. The presence of any structural weakness, disease conditions, decayed trunk or branches, split crotches or branches shall be reported to the City's Representative and corrective measures recommended. The use of climbing spurs or irons is not approved in pruning operations on live trees. This Contract shall commence on the Commencement Date set forth in the Goods and Services Contract and shall expire five (5) years later, unless terminated earlier in accordance with the provisions of this Contract.
