The project consists of the following: The project consists of the demolition of an existing reinforced concrete box bridge (RCBB) and culvert structures and the construction of a replacement RCBB, a rigged framed box bridge (RFBB), and a precast box culvert in multiple locations in Harvey County Kansas. Three structure replacements are included under the base bid; structures 2-A.2, 15-J.9, and 28-R.3. The existing structures vary from corrugated metal pipe culverts (15-J.9), RCB culvert (2-A.2), and an RCBB (28-R.3). Associated improvements will include roadway surfacing, aggregate base, grading, temporary and permanent erosion control, site restoration, and construction traffic control. The roadways will be completely closed throughout the construction period. All bids shall be unit prices for a measured quantities contract and shall be submitted on forms which may be obtained from the County Engineer (MKEC Engineering, Inc.). Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, written by a surety company acceptable to the County, or certified cashier's check in the amount of 5 percent of the total bid, which shall be retained by the County until the contract for the Project has been awarded.
