Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Storrs Mansfield, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center.

University's Storrs Campus and is soliciting re-bids in the categories of structural steel, misc. metals, spray insulation, firestopping, visual displays, wall protection & shelving, signage, high-density shelving and conveying equipment as indicated in the 100% construction documents prepared by Newman Architects. REQUEST FOR INFORMATION: No questions will be accepted after 5:00 PM June 24th, 2025. Please send all RFI's to estimating@doc.build. Job Description: Project Intent is to bring athletics, research, clinical operations as well as entrepreneurial academics together in one building that can build upon each other. A more integrated approach to campus life, with an emphasis on recreation, athletic activity, human performance and applied health science. Renovate existing team, coaches, visitor locker rooms for the teams remaining within the fieldhouse to a standard established in the new locker rooms with the Rizza performance center. Scope of Work includes: Renovation of approximately 80,000 GSF of the existing fieldhouse that will meet the University Design Standards and Performance Guidelines. o Renovation includes but is not limited to locker rooms including toilets and showers, strength and conditioning room, exercise, rowing tank room, equipment and receiving, academic center office, tutorial, conference space, open study spaces, classroom, kitchen, ergonomic room, sports medicine, exterior access toilet rooms, MEP support space, National C Club office space and general office and conference rooms. o Renovation will include infrastructure upgrades including but not limited to, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, telcom, IT, AV, security, fire alarm, fire protection, plumbing, site utilities, roof and envelop repairs/upgrade. o Renovation includes abatement of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) and may include presumed PCB containing materials. o New Exterior entry vestibule and site/landscape improvements. o The building is targeting LEED V4 certified certification and will conform to Connecticut High Performance Building requirements. o Phase 2 has begun with substantial completion no later than December 30, 2026 The Set-Aside Requirement for a bid package designated as 100% SBE and 10% MBE is that (1) one hundred percent (100%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to a subcontractor who is certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as Small Business Enterprises (SBEs) and (2) not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs). The 10% set aside for MBEs may be included in the 100% set aside for SBEs. The Set-Aside Requirement for a bid package designated as 100% SBE and 100% MBE is that (1) one hundred percent (100%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to a subcontractor who is certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs). The 100% set aside for MBEs is included in the 100% set aside for SBEs
