Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Mishawaka, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
Project Description: This project includes storm sewers (up to 24-inches), sanitary sewers, CIPP lining of existing sanitary sewer (up to 30-inches), watermain, a roadway connection between Sixth Street and Seventh Street (west of Campbell Street), and reconstruction of Eighth Street west of Byrkit Street. In addition, sanitary laterals and water services will be replaced as appropriate. Surface restoration will include complete pavement replacement, curb and gutter, and sidewalk throughout the project area. The contractor performing the CIPP Lining shall be prequalified by the City of Mishawaka. The General Contractor shall be prequalified by INDOT to perform a minimum of one (1) work type applicable to this project. A certified check payable to the City of Mishawaka, Indiana or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and surety company, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. The bidder awarded the contract will be required to furnish a separate Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one-hundred twenty-five percent (125%) of the contract price before commencing work. The Performance Bond and Payment Bond shall remain in effect throughout the entire construction period and in addition a Maintenance Bond in an amount of 10% for a period of three years from the date of final completion will be required. Each bidder shall be required to complete all documents listed in the Checklist for Bidders. Each bidder shall be required to complete the Bid Form included with these documents. There is an Intermediate Completion date of October 31, 2025 for either Sixth Street from Sta. 39+25 to Sta.45+94 OR Campbell Street from Sixth Street through Seventh Street and Seventh Street from Sta. 39+23 to Sta. 50+00. CIPP Intermediate Completion date shall be October 31, 2025. The Substantial Completion date for this project shall be October 31, 2026, and the Final Completion Date shall be November 25, 2026. The Utility Board of the City of Mishawaka, Indiana, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities in bidding and to make an award in the best interest of the City. No bid or bid security may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least sixty (60) days.
