This project provides for the furnishing of all labor, material, equipment and work for the demolition and removal of toll facilities on the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76 Toll) at the Morgantown (Exit 298), Downingtown (Exit 312), S.R. 29 (Exit 320), and Valey Forge (Exit 326) interchanges. The work also includes the reconfiguration of electrical systems to maintain operation of the highway lighting and communication systems, securing and placing a pre-fab building at one (1) location and the repurposing of two (2) existing buildings, so they remain complete and operable. Work items include, but are not limited to: 33,678 CY Excavation, Various Classes (Including Pipe Excavation) 798 CY Flowable Fill, Type C (Closure of Existing Tunnels) 832 TON Subbase (No. 2A) (Including Subbase Under Guide Rail) 1,334 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixture, Various Designs 3,683 CY Concrete Pavement Patching (Various Types and Depths) 2,016 LF Guiderail, Type 31-S 4 EA Demolition of Existing Utility Buildings and Toll Plazas - various locations 3 EA Monopipe Sign Structures 3,124 SF Structure Mounted Extruded Aluminum Channel Signs 69,703 LF Pavement Markings (Various Sizes and Colors) 2,211 LF Concrete Median Barrier, Various Types and Sizes 5,750 LF Temporary Concrete Barrier. Milepost 298.33 is located approximately 0.33 miles west of the Morgantown Interchange, Exit 298, in Berks County. Milepost 326.62 is located approximately 0.62 miles east of the Valley Forge Interchange, Exit 326, in Montgomery County. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.)
