The work generally consists of mobilization; setup and maintenance of a traffic control system; developing and implementing a water pollution control program; clearing, grubbing, trimming and root pruning; cold planing, removing and disposing of asphalt, concrete, base and/or native materials; placement of hot mix asphalt (HMA); construction of jointed plane concrete pavement (JPCP) and miscellaneous concrete; lowering and adjusting utility frames and covers; reconstruction of storm drain infrastructure; replacement of traffic striping, pavement markings and raised pavement markers; cleanup of the project area; and other items of work as shown on the plans. A Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the Total Bid amount payable to the City of Mill Valley shall accompany the Proposal. The order of work for the project shall be as follows: 1. Contractor shall begin work at the following locations after the completion of the sewer work to accommodate upcoming sewer improvement project. Work that does not require to be within the roadway may begin; however, the contractor shall coordinate with the City and sewer contractor and adjust their construction schedule to accommodate the sewer project. Work adjacent to schools shall be scheduled to occur prior to August 11th as identified in technical specification section 01120-1.07. The proposed scope of work includes roadway preventative maintenance treatments of various streets in the City of Mill Valley. As outlined in the schedule of bid items, this work includes, but is not limited to, implementation of storm water pollution and prevention; traffic control; applying remove and replace asphalt, asphalt planing, crack seal, roadway paving, upgrading of curb ramps, and sidewalk construction; applying striping, markers, crosswalks and legends; and all other work related to roadway preventative maintenance treatments and restoring the street striping, and installing new striping as specified in the Special Provisions, and as directed by the Director of Public Works/City Engineer. The Engineer's Estimate for this project's Base Bid is $2,010,000 (Rounded to the nearest $10,000). Award of contract, if awarded, will be to the lowest responsible bidder whose proposal complies with the prescribed requirements, and will be within thirty-five (30) days after receipt of proposals.
