(the "Project"). The Owner will be using a design-build delivery model for the design and construction of the Project. The restoration Project will include the restoration practices as referenced on Exhibit B or suggested alternatives: 1. Restore approximately 53 acres of agricultural ground to 30 acres of forested and emergent wetlands and 22.7 acres of upland prairie. 2. Reestablish hydrology by disabling sub-surface drain tiles, blocking drainage ditches with earthen berms. 3. Develop variable wetland depths of 0.5 - 1.5' across at least 10.9 acres to restore wetland pools and expand existing depressions that will accommodate different seasonal hydro periods. The restoration practice described above shall incorporate the use of native shrub and tree plantings for soil stabilization and habitat improvement. This Project will utilize and develop concept plans and topographical drawings to create a final design to be determined after full engineering and design is completed including providing assistance to Metroparks with local, state and federal agency coordination and permitting, as necessary. The contractor or team of contractors (collectively "Contractor") shall furnish all necessary labor, facilities, materials, equipment, and incidentals to complete the Project scope of services as defined herein and the Design-Build Contract entered into between Metroparks and the Contractor. The Project consists of one Project area. Oak Openings Corridor: 5401 WatervilleSwanton Rd. project site is in Lucas County, OH within the Oak Openings Region (OOR). The property features 15 acres of diverse forested wetland habitat, including examples of the globally imperiled (G2) pin oak-swamp white oak sand Flatwoods community associated with Swan Creek, a tributary of the Maumee River. The balance of the property contains 5 acres of remnant oak savanna and 53 acres of agriculture, which will be restored. The OOR is a globally rare ecosystem composed of 130 square miles of Michigan and Ohio. The land consists largely of oak savannah and grassland prairie. Additionally, the project area is contiguous to 4,447 contiguous acres of permanently protected Oak Openings habitats within the Maumee State Forest and Oak Openings THE SCOPE OF WORK consists of the design, oversight and implementation of wetland and upland restoration on an approximately 73 acre site owned by Metroparks Toledo.
