Bids will be awarded at the regular Independence Township meeting held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday April 15, 2025. The sugar run road dglvr project includes the labor, materials, and equipment necessary to remove and replace an existing bridge structure on sugar run road with a 40.5-foot long 18-2 x 4-7 aluminum box culvert with end walls and wingwalls, construct grade controls structures in the stream, and resurface a section of roadway with bituminous asphalt surfacing. Proposals must be on the forms furnished by the township engineer. Contact Harshman CE Group, LLC at 724-503-4125 with any questions. The bid envelope must be clearly marked sugar run road dglvr project. Independence township reserves the right to reject any or all bid proposals or any portion thereof. Attention of bidders is called to the requirements concerning the payment of not less than the prevailing wage and salary rate provisions of the pennsylvania prevailing wage act 442 for the sugar run road dglvr project. Liquidated damages will apply at the rate of $500.00 per calendar day. Bids may be held by Independence Township for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding the contract. The work which the Contractor is required to perform under this Contract shall be commenced at the time stipulated by the Owner and shall be fully completed within seventy five (75) calendar days after Notice to Proceed.
