Demolition, site work, paving, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Ceres, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; for the addition of a educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and educational facility.
APPROXIMATE CONSTRUCTION BEGIN DATE: October 1, 2025. To request a copy of a RFQ for any of the projects listed above please contact Anna-Maria Trimboli at (209) 556-1500, ext. 1340. Proposals will only be considered from lease leaseback entities that have been prequalified by the District. Proposals may not be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days following the submittal due date. Lease leaseback entities must hold a California Contractors License, Class B, which is current, valid, and in good standing with the California Contractor's State License Board to submit a proposal for this project. Lease leaseback entities are hereby notified that pursuant to section 1770 et seq. of the Labor Code of the State of California the Director of Industrial Relations has ascertained the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the rates for overtime and holiday work in the locality in which the work is to be performed for each craft, classification or type of workman needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful lease leaseback entity. Copies are on file with and available upon request from the District. Lease leaseback entities shall be responsible for verifying with the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations that all such copies of the prevailing rate provided by the District are current and accurate. The requirement to pay these wage rates and rates so specified; is further detailed in the relevant leaseback documents. The successful lease leaseback entity shall, before entering upon the performance of the work hereunder, file a payment and performance bond with and approved by the District. All lease leaseback entities submitting proposals must have registered with the California State Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 prior to submitting a proposal, and before entering into a contract to work on the project. California Education Code section 45125.2 requires entities providing construction services to the District to ensure the safety of pupils where employees of the entity or subcontractors will have contact with pupils. Therefore, Contractor shall certify that methods are being undertaken to ensure the pupils' safety. Certification must be accomplished by completing the "Declaration Regarding Employee Fingerprinting and Criminal Background Check. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, and further reserves the right to waive any formalities or irregularities in the proposals. The Scope of Work is anticipated to include the following: The project consists of the addition of a new classroom building of approximately 5,040 s.f. with four classrooms and auxiliary spaces on an existing elementary school site. The classroom building will be wood framed, slab-on-grade building with plaster and thin-brick masonry wainscot at the exterior walls. The sloping roof will have a standing seam metal roof. The interior will have carpet flooring, vinyl covered tackboard, suspended t-bar ceiling, and plastic laminate casework. The building will have roof mounted solar panels with battery storage systems, electrical, low-voltage, mechanical and plumbing systems. Work includes the demolition of existing site improvements, five relocatable classroom buildings, utilities, asphalt and concrete flatwork. Site work includes rough and finish grading, extending wet and dry utility lines to the new building, and concrete flatwork. Work in the existing Cafeteria Building includes grinding and polishing the existing concrete slab in the multi-use room and kitchen area and installation of a new HVAC system. Hazardous material abatement will be required along with drywall repairs and cutting of openings in existing CMU walls. This work will only occur during summer months when school is not in session. Access to the construction area is limited by existing buildings and paths of travel from the street. This is a traditional school year campus with summer school activities.
