Reference Number 0000383738 The Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) asserts that PGW Solutions is the exclusive supplier of Pro Filters, which are produced by Blade Air. CDOC maintains that there are no other companies that manufacture a similar or competing product, due to the existing patents, trade secrets, and the unique features and functionalities of the Blade Air Pro Filter. The Pro Filter is characterized by its unique carbon string design, which effectively reduces odors and volatile chemicals in a way that pleated media filters cannot match. It features a lower air pressure drop and the highest efficiency in removing sub-bacterial contaminants, including viruses and volatile chemicals. Additionally, the Pro Filter has a smaller environmental impact than other filters, as it incorporates recyclable materials in its construction. The Blade Air Pro Filter is exclusively available for purchase through authorized distributors of Blade Air. This Notice of Proposed Sole Source has been published to allow any prospective competitors or other interested parties to submit comments and/or objections to the determination that PGW Solutions is the sole source from which to purchase these filters.
