Renovation of an educational facility in Columbus, Ohio. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
This project has been funded for Design and Construction. The project delivery will be Design-Build with Competitive GMP. This request is for Criteria Architect/Engineer (C-A/E) to provide design and project management to establish the Design Development level plans/specifications for DB Competitive GMP proposal, confirm project budget and schedule, and provide construction administration. The Criteria-A/E will be required to include an elevator consultant on their project team, the selection to be in conjunction with University approval. Pursuant to ORC 153.694, professional design firms selected to provide C-A/E services shall not provide any A/E of Record services for the project for which the professional design firm was selected as the C-A/E.. Submit all questions regarding this RFQ in writing to Sara Lytle at lytle.135@osu.edu with the project number included in the subject line (no phone calls please). Questions will be answered and posted to the Opportunities page on the OFCC website. Jones Tower is a 13-floor residence hall located on North Campus. The building includes a 14th floor mechanical level and 15th floor elevator machine room. It features 3 traction elevators that this project seeks to modernize. Elevators One and Two are a 14 stop and Elevator Three is 15 stop, all are 2500lb drive traction passenger elevators, last updated in 1999. The elevators are primarily used for student travel. Only one elevator at a time is to be offline during construction. The Project is intended to follow applicable elevator modernization requirements that can be referenced in the University Building Design Standards located on OSU FDC's vendor resources page website. The scope of work will replace the controller, door operator, panel and cab fronts, hall stations, traveling cable, duct and hoist way wiring (as needed), car top box, governor and compensation rope, traction machine, car door panels and fronts, rope break, phone/video monitoring system, Panachrome door reopening device, car and counterweight roller guides. As well as all associated electrical and fire alarm requirements, split system unit, temperature controls and new sump pumps. There will also be some miscellaneous finish work.
